Stay and Play at the Luxor Pyramid in Las Vegas

The unique pyramid design of Luxor Las Vegas distinguishes it from all other Strip resorts. Named after an ancient city in Egypt, the imposing black pyramid is 30 stories high and the 42.3 candela Sky Beam shooting up towards the heavens is the strongest light beam on the planet.

Between the pyramid and its twin ziggurat towers (22 stories each) the property has 4,400 hotel rooms, including nearly 450 suites. Because of the pyramid’s unique design, all of its rooms are along the outer walls and are accessed by inclinators traveling at a 39-degree angle.

Luxor Las Vegas opened in 1993 and, at the time, relied heavily on the Egyptian theme for its interior décor and attractions. The Nile River Tour transported guests on small watercraft around the interior perimeter of the casino. Guest could visit a replica of King Tut’s Tomb as it was discovered by archaeologists in the Egyptian Valley of the Kings near the city of Luxor. Both attractions have since been removed from the property. A $300 million renovation announced in July 2007 replaced much of the ancient Egyptian theme with more contemporary designs and adult-oriented amenities.

Luxor is home to five production shows. Criss Angel Believe features mind-bending illusions and a romp through an alternate world created by the minds of the Magician of the Century and the master entertainers at Cirque du Soleil. Carrot Top keeps audiences laughing with his trunk full of outlandish inventions and weird props. Jabbawockeez is an energetic show featuring music, laser lights, spectacular special effects and mind-boggling choreography. Fantasy is a seductive topless revue with gorgeous dancers acting out fantasies choreographed to today’s hottest music. Comedian Sean E Cooper and talented lead singer Jamie Lynch round out the cast for this popular showgirl extravaganza. Menopause the Musical is a fun-filled look at a time of life few women would describe as fun. The production features popular songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s with special lyrics relating to the show’s theme.

The resort has five bars and two nightclubs, each with its own distinct personality. LAX is 26,000 feet of entertainment space with sparkling chandeliers and red leather booths. The second floor is a VIP area offering seven luxury lofts suspended above the dance floor. Savile Row draws an eclectic crowd to its intimate 2,000 square foot space. Drawing its inspiration from the famous London street known for its custom men’s tailoring, guests can expect a discreet experience, creative cocktails and specialized VIP services.

Luxor’s pool area covers 19,000 square feet in four sections. Hotel guests enjoy complimentary lounge chairs, towels and the attention of poolside beverage servers. Local DJs provide live entertainment Friday through Sunday. Guests wanting a VIP experience can rent a cabana equipped with lounge chairs, table, snack basket, mini fridge stocked with water and juice, ceiling fan, 42” TV, access to a private pool and in-house phone service.

Guests of the Luxor can relax and rewind at Nurture Spa & Salon. Prepare for a special event with professional makeup, nail and hair services provided by experienced cosmetologists. Choose from a menu of body treatments, facials and massages and take advantage of the whirlpools, dry sauna and eucalyptus steam bath to ease away life’s little stresses.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition invites visitors to delve into the most well known maritime tragedy of all time through examination of more than 250 authentic artifacts recovered from the ocean liner’s wreckage.
