What to Do in Las Vegas 4th of July 2014

It takes more than a single day to paint at city like Las Vegas red, white and blue. So, since the 4th of July is on a Friday this year, we’ll go ahead and take the whole weekend to celebrate Independence Day Sin City style.

Where to See Fireworks

It doesn’t get any more traditional than fireworks on the 4th of July and this year, we have four separate shows on the Strip to ooh and aah over.

Mandalay Bay – Mandalay Bay Beach will light up the Vegas skyline with colorful lights following a poolside concert by local classic rockers Phoenix. Doors open at 8 pm and tickets are $20 per person. Score a family four-pack for $60.

Caesars Palace – If you’re near center Strip, look skyward at 9 pm for the Caesars Palace fireworks show.

The Linq – This brand new outdoor mall between The Quad and Flaming has a show planned for 9:30 pm. Fireworks will launch from a parking lot near The High Roller observation wheel. For the ultimate viewing location for this show and the one at Caesars, get in line and hope you get a pod on the wheel. General admission from 8:30 to 9:30 pm is $49.5 per person, which includes one drink. For $2,500, you can reserve a personal party pod for up to two dozen people.

The Stratosphere – The north Strip will be covered by a Grucci fireworks display presented by the Stratosphere. To get a close up view on property, head on up to the 8 Pool featuring Zowie Bowie in concert. The all-ages party goes from 6-10 pm and admission is $10 per person. To avoid the young ones, keep going to the Level 107 Lounge for cocktails and spectacular views of the city.

Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort – These two Stations Casinos properties offer an alternative if you want to avoid the Strip crowds. Both shows start at 9 pm and will last nine minutes.

Mission Hills Park – For a way off-strip celebration, the City of Henderson is hosting a party with live entertainment, food vendors, games and fireworks from 5:30 pm until 9:15 pm. Admission is free and shuttle service to the park is available from Foothill High School at 800 College Dr.
