1OAK Nightclub at Mirage is Truly One of a Kind

Sophisticated and chic are the words that best describe 1OAK Nightclub at Mirage, a collaboration between Butter Group, a leader in New York nightlife, and the Las Vegas nightclub industry pioneers at Light Group.

In addition to owning and operating a nightclub in New York by the same name, Butter Group’s award-winning restaurants in New York include Butter Restaurant and The Darby with its popular subterranean ultra-lounge. Light Group engineered Vegas nightlife as we now know it and manages nearly two dozen food and beverage properties in Sin City, including Light Nightclub at Mandalay Bay, the Bank at Bellagio, Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria and Red Square at Mandalay Bay.

If you haven’t already figured out, 1OAK stands for “One of a Kind” and the space does its best to live up to its name. The black walls bear original artwork by Roy Nachum. The native of Israel is a former student at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem as well as the Cooper Union School of Art in New York. His surrealistic artwork employs a double vision technique and incorporates his own original poems reproduced in braille with the intention of making art accessible to everyone. Elaborate antiqued brass frames show off his creations.

Comfortable seating with dark upholstery and gold accents is scattered throughout with most of the VIP tables in the main room offering great views of the dance floor without making guests feel crowded. Additional VIP seating is available in secluded areas near the second bar for those who prefer a little more privacy.

The 16,000 square foot space features two rooms, each with its own DJ booth and full-service bar and the two rooms become one for special events to accommodate the capacity crowd. The club’s state-of-the art audiovisual system provides a feast for the eyes and ears and is a big draw for A-list talent from around the world.

1OAK Nightclub at Mirage debuted on the Las Vegas nightclub scene just in time to ring in 2012 with special guests Fergie and Kanye West, who treated guests to a now infamous three-hour DJ set under the pseudonym YEEZYWORLDPEACE. Since then the venue has hosted a steady stream of celebrities, including the likes of Jenny McCarthy, Pitbull, Robin Thicke, Wiz Khalifa, Adam Levine and Jessica Alba.

The operators of 10AK like to keep guests guessing, so surprise guest appearances and impromptu performances by new artists are the norm at this Vegas hotspot. Music selections trend toward hip-hop, electronic dance music, top 40 and mash-ups.

The dance floor is centrally located and adjacent to the DJ booth. Guests can easily grab a drink at the main bar and get right back to the party.

Dress to impress and do not even try to navigate the velvet rope in casual wear because you will be wasting your time. 1OAK describes its dress code as upscale chic. Men should wear a collared shirt with a sport coat if they hope to make it past the doorman. The venue strictly prohibits athletic attire, hats, sunglasses, tennis shoes, sandals, t-shirts and chains.

If you choose not to pay for table service, be prepared for the wait. It can take up to two hours to get through the door depending on who is scheduled to perform that evening.

The club is open for business Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Tuesdays cater to the locals with special nightlife industry events. Weekends are when you are most likely to rub elbows with the rich and famous while enjoying the offerings of talented performance artists from around the world. The entrance is conveniently located next to the North Valet and self-parking garage.
