Many Las Vegas shows feature scantily clad women entertainers prancing onstage to the delight of male audience members but Chippendales is one that is strictly for the ladies. The high-energy Las Vegas male revue has been luring ladies to the Rio with its high-energy male revue featuring sexy dancers in tantalizing costumes that leave very little to the imagination.

Chippendales have a popular touring show that travels around the United States and in multiple foreign countries. The Rio in Las Vegas is the only permanent venue for the few good men who have what it takes to wear the iconic bow-tied collar and shirt cuffs.

The troupe was established in 1979. From the beginning, the show’s producers designed it to be more than just a bunch of devastatingly gorgeous men taking off their pants, although that is its biggest draw. Up tempo music, dazzling choreography, specialty acts and quick costume changes combine for a show that aims to bring female fantasies to life. The dancers represent a variety of ethnic backgrounds but all are buff, beautiful and at least six feet tall – a requirement for all cast members. Throughout the evening, they play various roles, including firemen, law officers, military men, rock stars and more.

Chippendales debuted at the Rio in 2002 and they were so popular they introduced a custom theater in 2005. The 21,000 square foot space was designed by women for women who looking for the ultimate ladies’ night out. The décor is feminine chic with makeover stations in the restrooms where guests can primp before the show. The Gossip Pit is a luxurious place to gather and chat over champagne or cocktails.

The upscale Flirt Lounge offers the perfect place to pass the time before the show. Talented mixologists serve up creative specialty cocktails made with exotic ingredients, fresh fruit juices and premium flavored liquors. The lounge also offers a daiquiri bar.

Attending the show is a popular way to entertain groups for birthday and bachelorette parties. The VIP lounges lining the balcony offer unobstructed views of the action, plush seating and drink service.

The show features a dozen dancers with finely chiseled physiques shaking what they got in a series of themed performances with costumes to match. As the sexy burlesque style choreography playfully teases the audience into a frenzy, even the most timid among them soon find they can’t help but let their hair down and join in the fun.

Audience interaction is a big part of the Chippendales show. Some lucky ladies will snag one of the white tank tops the hunks tear off during the act and toss into the audience. They estimate this act of generosity costs them more than 12,000 tank tops per year. Other audience members get the once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in a variation of “The Dating Game” and compete for the chance to remain onstage and enjoy the dancers’ talents up close. Throughout the show, performers leave the stage to dance with and for various ladies in the audience. After the show, audience members are invited to a meet and greet and photo opportunity with the cast members at Flirt lounge.

The fast-paced performances keep the party going for 75 minutes every night and twice nightly on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Celebrity guest performers, including Joey Lawrence, Jake Pavelka, Ronnie Magro and Ian Ziering, have appeared in limited engagements with the famous male dance troupe.
